Huge Atlantic Salmon can be found in Eastern Quebec, namely in Gaspe and the "Cote Nord / North shore" tributaries of the St Lawrence river. Ontario also has a great Salmon fishery in Lake Ontario and the western St Lawrence river past Thousand Islands. The St Lawrence river also has a healthy Sturgeon population, with fish commonly reaching over 200 lbs. Some other species are "accidentally" caught while fishing for game fish, especially in the St Lawrence and Outaouais / Ottawa rivers. I will try to post more information on these species when / if I target / catch any of them. Holy Mackerel, it's a saltwater fish!
